Alloy Steel
What is alloy steel casting?
In addition to iron and carbon, alloy steel is called alloy steel by adding other alloying elements. It is an iron-carbon alloy formed by adding an appropriate amount of one or more alloying elements based on ordinary carbon steel. The most common alloy steel materials include manganese, nickel, molybdenum, chromium, vanadium, silicon, and boron. Low alloy steels are the most common in investment casting. Compared with carbon steel, alloy steel has many excellent properties: strength, hardness, toughness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and hardenability. If castings do not meet these improved properties, heat treatment will help to improve some of them.
